Please join the Trails Committee Steering Committee at another public work session via Zoom on Tuesday, November 24 at 7:00 PM to discuss alignment possibilities for portions of the Town Link Trail.
To make the most of the Trail segments that have already been constructed so far, the Trails Committee is focusing on the portion of the Trail between the West Charlotte village area and the Town Beach. They started a public study with its own Steering Committee to find the most appropriate off-road route for the Trail in this part of Town, and to do it as efficiently and wisely as possible. The Steering Committee is now inviting you to help select the most reasonable off-road alignment for this portion of the Trail at a Zoom meeting on November 24 at 7 PM. The Town is planning to spend the $57,000 residents allocated in the last budget for the Town Link Trail to construct a portion of the Trail along the alignment recommended in this study.
You can view maps of the different route alternatives under consideration at the Town Office. You can also view them on line at the Trails Committee webpages on the Town website. At the November 24th meeting, the Steering Committee will present information on the different possible alignments under consideration, including how they were generated, what impacts they might have on our neighbors and the environment, and general construction cost guesses for each.
The Steering Committee looks forward to seeing you online next Tuesday. You can join the meeting with the Zoom link above. You can also send questions about the project or preferences for an alignment to bikeped@gmavt.net.
