Bre Valdez, Youth Representative of Island Arts, will be presenting a half-hour recital at the historic Homer Knight Barn. Bre is a Junior voice performance major at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. She is also the regional title holder "Miss Grand Isle,"and an official candidate for Miss Vermont - under the Miss America organization. The recital will be live streamed by LCATV and made available to the public to stream for free. The program will feature classical works by American and English composers such as Ned Rorem, Henry Purcell, Charles Ives, and Aaron Copland. The public may also submit donations to Island Arts to benefit numerous scholarship funds for local children - including the music scholarship founded by Ms. Valdez herself, 'Take Note.'"
The program will eventually be shown on LCATV community channel and available on Island Arts (islandarts.org) and LCATV (LCATV.org) web sites.
