Below is an agenda for next Tuesday's Select Board Meeting. The Select Board would like to draw your attention to an item on the agenda concerning the 2021 Town Meeting. As you know, we vote for candidates by ballot. But all other issues, including special articles, are voted from the floor on the 1st Tuesday in March at Rumney School. However, due to COVID-19 and the dangers of holding a large gatherings indoors, the Vermont Legislature passed Act 162 temporarily allowing for the use of ballots instead for all Town and Special Town Meetings in 2021. REGULAR MEETING
5:35 Considering whether to implement provisions under Act 162 which permits
any municipality the ability to apply the Australian ballot system to any or all of its municipal meetings held in the year 2021 by vote of its legislative body. This would be temporary and only for Town/Special meetings held in 2021. No petitions would be required to place the names of candidates on the ballot. In addition, the Board needs to set a date for a remote Informational Meeting. Action possible.
6:00 Highway Report: updates about Town road maintenance. Action possible.
6:15 Treasurer's Report – considering different financial management models for the Town office. Action possible.
