Spring is finally here, and it’s time to thin out your flower beds! Don’t know what to do with your overgrown flowers, berry bushes, and more? Grow Team O.N.E. and the Vermont Community Garden Network are seeking donations of perennials for their May 10th plant sale. All you need to do is dig up your extra plants and place them in boxes lined with plastic or in pots. We will divide and re-pot them for the sale. Take your spring cleaning to your garden shed; we are also seeking donations of round plastic pots, 6-8” in diameter.
The sale includes a wide selection of perennial flowers, herbs, edibles, and more. Plus, Slow Food Vermont will be selling their Ark of Taste veggie starts and Vermont Community Garden Network will be selling burlap bags.
The plant sale is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at the Integrated Arts Academy at H.O. Wheeler School on Archibald Street in Burlington's Old North End. Proceeds will support the Archibald and Riverside Neighborhood Gardens in the Old North End, and development of other neighborhood gardens and garden-based outreach and education throughout Vermont.
Donations are accepted until May 7. To arrange for pick-up or drop-off of your donated perennials or plastic pots, or to volunteer, please contact Faye Conte at 802-558-0075 or email faye.conte@gmail.com. Thank you!
