Rochester Public Library Book Discussion

Past event
Dec 16, 2020, 6:30 to 7:30 PM

Zooming into the winter months, the Rochester Public Library will restart our monthly book discussions with Hillbilly Elegy, A memoir of a family and culture in crisis. This reflection on what has happened in America over the past 40 years in one family hoping to escape poverty sheds some light on understanding the rage all too apparent in our national narrative. Through understanding, we can discuss a path to reconciliation and a more tolerant and united future for our country.

Everyone is invited to participate and diverse views are welcomed. The only qualification to joining the discussion is reading the book!

Hillbilly Elegy discussion will be Wednesday, December 16th at 6:30. Books will be available starting Tuesday, November 17.

Discussions of history, public policy, international affairs, and politics will continue on-line throughout the winter. Contact the library for a copy of the book and information on how to join the conversation at rochesterpubliclibraryVT@gmail.com or call 767-3927 during staffed ours Tuesday & Thursday 1:00-6:00 and Saturday 9:00-12:00. The library is open for browsing by appointment and contactless porch-pick-up is available during the same hours.
