Please join the Trails Committee Steering Committee at a public work session via Zoom on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00 PM to discuss their latest work.
They are taking the lead in helping the Town decide what portion of the Town Link Trail should be built next. The Town has $57,000 to build the next section of the Trail, thanks to the generosity of Charlotte voters. The Town's long-term goal is to connect the East and West villages to the Town Beach.
To make the most of the Trail segments that have already been constructed so far, the Trails Committee is focusing on the portion of the Trail between the West Charlotte village area and the Town Beach.
To do this work as efficiently and wisely as possible, the Trails Committee started a public study with its own Steering Committee to find the most appropriate route for the Trail in this area. The Steering Committee is now inviting you to contribute your thoughts on the most reasonable route for this portion of the Trail at a Zoom meeting on November 11 at 7 PM.
You can view maps of the different route options under consideration at the Town Office starting on Friday, Nov. 6. You will also be able to view them on line at the Trails Committee webpages on the Town website. The Steering Committee will present information on the different routes under consideration at the meeting, including how they were generated, what impacts they might have on our neighbors and the environment, and general construction cost guesses for each.
We look forward to seeing you online next Wednesday. Look for a link to the Zoom meeting on Front Porch Forum later this week.
You can also send questions about the project or preferences for an alignment to bikeped@gmavt.net.
