Some friends of Ralph Jean Marie , a Haitian immigrant, missing since April from his Barre home, are organizing a Remembrance Ceremony on Saturday November 7 at 12:30 pm on the green by the monument in Barre.
Although Ralph is presumed to be dead, this is not a memorial service. Flowers would be greatly appreciated.
This is an opportunity for all of us, especially those of us with white skin, to reach out cross-racially, cross culturally in a deep gesture of caring, in memory of Ralph, a father and member of our community.
Investigation into the circumstances of his death have been extremely slow, and have drawn much criticism regarding the efforts of local law-enforcement.
I personally did not know Ralph, but I am posting for members of the Barre community who did.
