Join us Fri., Nov. 6 for the Self-Care Skillshare — a monthly workshop series in the revitalized Resilience Hub at BALE (35 S. Windsor St. in South Royalton. Area community members share their expertise on a variety of wellness topics to help you stay grounded and vital this autumn. During these difficult times, we seek to creatively and safely increase our capacity to stay connected and support each other. May we envision a new way forward where we center collective care and mutual aid as core values! The Skillshare celebrates all of the resources we have right here in our community. Let's start now.
• From 2:00-3:45 PM, join artist, ritualist and intuitive counselor Elena Greenlee for Collective Tarot Ritual for Healing and Liberation: Together we'll explore how the tarot can serve as a clear mirror, reflecting the deeper lessons and opportunities that present themselves during deeply challenging times. For more info and to register, contact Elena at elenagreenlee@gmail.com.
• Then, at the 4:00-5:15 PM, it's "Happy as a Fish in Crystal Water" with Catherine Freese: An introduction to Qigong. Wondering what qigong is about? Come explore a practice that combines gentle movement, breathing and focus to improve circulation and balance. The simple exercises are designed to reduce stress, strengthen the immune system and cultivate energy. For more info or to register, contact Catherine at freesevt@gmail.com.
• Then, from 5:30-7:00 PM, community herbalist Elspeth Sherman offers Herbal Support for Anger: Anger is a logical and necessary emotional response in many situations. But it can also cause us harm. How can we maintain a healthy relationship with this important emotion? In this workshop, we will look at the mind/body connection and explore how herbs can support us in working with anger. For more info or to register, contact Elspeth at elspethsherman@gmail.com.
• Finally, from 8:00-9:00 PM, it's Yoga Nidra with Miss Amanda: Recover from the stress of modern life with this powerful yet simple way to relax completely. Yoga Nidra, also known as Yogic Sleep, is a guided meditation designed to relax the body while gently stimulating various parts of the brain to slow down brain waves. During this process, your subconscious mind is more suggestible, allowing you to consciously establish newer, healthier patterns. For more info or to register, contact Miss Amanda at amanda@innerliftyoga.com.
Due to COVID restrictions, masks are required in the Resilience Hub and each session is limited to five people. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis by emailing the presenter of that session.
