This is Where the Monkton Happens!

Why do you live in Monkton?
It's a simple question but there are probably a number of answers that come to mind. Our little town is undeniably beautiful, featuring a healthy environment, different landscapes and diverse wildlife. It's full of fascinating people, places, animals, plants, history and ideas, and it has a cohesive, collaborative municipal spirit.

How do you make your voice heard?
'Values Mapping' is a fun and effective way to do it. It's a town-wide event that helps a community find out more about itself: On a shared map of Monkton, townspeople highlight different areas they use or appreciate, whether it's a viewing area, hunting spot, trail walk or town feature, among other possibilities.

Why does it matter?
Values Mapping identifies areas in town most significant to Monktonites. This matters for two important reasons:
1- To inform citizens, policymakers, planners, developers and businesses about what's truly important to the townspeople, reflected by hearts and minds and memories, and
2- To help the Monkton Conservation Commission propose language from data generated at the event to include in the Monkton Town Plan.

Ready to act?
On Thursday, November 12th, the Monkton Conservation Commission will host a Values Mapping session at 6PM, and you're invited. Please visit www.MCCVM.com to learn more and take part in this unique community-building opportunity!
