The Williston ReStore, part of Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity, offers “Stuff the Truck” events for area schools, churches and businesses to make it easier for people to donate items to the ReStore. The Williston ReStore will bring their truck to South Burlington High School on Saturday, April 26 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to accept donated items of furniture and household goods. These items will be sold at the Williston ReStore and the funds will be used to help build Habitat homes for low-income working families in Chittenden County.

Williston Habitat ReStore:
The Habitat ReStore is part of Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHfH) whose primary mission is to help end substandard housing for working families by building simple, decent homes and financing a 0%, no down- payment mortgage. Our goal for the Habitat ReStore is to
• Create a revenue source for GMHfH to increase the number of homes built annually.
• Divert usable materials from local landfills
• Provide the community with low-cost furniture, appliances, building materials and more.
• Create jobs and volunteer opportunities.

Benefits of Habitat ReStore:
The Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity ReStore helps to provide revenue, by selling donated household goods, to building Habitat homes. When you donate items, or shop at the ReStore, you are helping us to move working families out of substandard rental housing and into a home of their own. We help families who are unable to qualify for conventional mortgages become homeowners as we finance their 0%, no down payment mortgage, which is based on the actual cost to build their home. When people have the opportunity to become homeowners, their lives are changed and the impact on their children is dramatic. Children who live in a stable, safe home are more successful in school, and have fewer behavioral and emotional challenges.
Habitat believes in giving families a “hand up” to becoming first-time homeowners, not a “hand out”.
The Habitat ReStore also positively impacts the environment by diverting thousands of tons of household items from our local landfills. We offer free pick-up for large items and large quantities from homeowners, businesses and contractors and provide receipts for your tax deductions. Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and all donations, both monetary and items, are tax deductible.

Donate and Deduct:
By donating your household items, from appliances to furniture to building supplies to books, you help to save our area landfills from still usable items and you receive a tax deduction—win, win! Rather than paying a dumping fee you receive a tax donation and the knowledge that you are helping to build Habitat homes for local, working families.
