The Bristol Zoning Board of Adjustments will hold a public zoom hearing on October 27 beginning at 7:30 to consider review of a zoning permit related to a solar field (already in progress) at 2 Park Place in Bristol. This is a tax exempt property in the Bristol Downtown District which is installing an approximately 90' long solar panel array in the "back yard" directly behind the Baptist Church and the former Bristol High School. The ZBA review, as I understand it, is not to challenge the solar field but rather to review a proposed change to the original permitted Conditional Use plan. This project, however, will have a direct adverse visual impact on views from the Town Green, various civic and religious buildings and from the adjacent neighborhoods. I think this should be of interest to all Bristol folks concerned about the visual character of the Village.
