Warren King of Ripton will receive the Sally Laughlin Endangered Species Award for 2020 at Dead Creek WMA on November 6. His award is the first event on the agenda. Warren has been active for decades with the Nature Conservancy, Vermont Audubon, National Audubon, Otter Creek Audubon, The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board, and almost any other organization involved in conservation in Vermont. I am hoping that many of Warren's friends and supporters will be able to attend this event. See the registration link below.
From VT Fish & Wildlife Dept.: In 2020, the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department is celebrating 100 years of land conservation through the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) system. Our celebration will be held at the Dead Creek WMA in Addison, one of our most beloved and accessible WMAs in the state, on Friday, November 6, from 2pm to 4pm outside the Dead Creek Visitor Center. Please join us for this final commemoration of a momentous anniversary. We will also announce the winners of our first conservation art contest, which was financially supported by the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen and the Vermont Trappers Association. In addition, the annual Sally Laughlin Award for the Conservation of Endangered and Threatened Species will be presented to this year's recipient. Lastly, enjoy a guided visit to the goose viewing area to watch wildlife and learn about Dead Creek's history.
