Nonviolent Direct Action Training

Past event
Oct 31, 2020, 10 AM to 5:30 PM

Join Emma Schoenberg and Dana Dwinell-Yardley of the Climate Disobedience Center and No Coal No Gas for a mixed online and in-person training on Nonviolent Direct Action.

We'll discuss NVDA theory and practice, with an eye towards the skills needed to resist a coup. This training will explore somatics and embodied practices for confronting risk with fierce vulnerability, deescalation tactics against police and paramilitary violence, strategy and organizing theory, and the role of teams and affinity groups within a larger movement ecosystem.

The day will be broken up into two sessions as follows:

Session #1: 10/31 10am-1:30pm
Online via Zoom (attend in the comfort of your Saturday PJs!)

Session #2: 10/31 3:00-5:30
In person and outdoors at a downtown Montpelier location. Masks required.

You must attend Session #1 in order to attend Session #2. Location of Session #2 will be given to registered attendees.

The training is free of charge. Register here: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJYvcu-gqzooGtUTSVgclsGxMsN99Ni7i-xK.
