A Message from the beloved Genny with The Arts Bus:
The Arts Bus is in need of at least twelve (12) volunteers to install Whisper in the Wind under the direction of artist Susannah Gravel. The installation features 500-600 colorful flags, spaced +6ft apart, in a sloping land area of roughly 25'x250' on VT 66. Visit The Arts Bus Facebook Page for pictures of the vision!
Location Details:
-VT 66 Below Whale Dance (park by the bus). Lunch provided by TACO TRUCK ALL STARS!
Volunteer Team Details:
-Minimum 12 (2 per color, 6 colors), but more is better!
What to Bring:
-Cold/wet weather gear & mask
-Work gloves (flagpoles are rough cut 1" stickers x 6.5')
-Unless 6' tall, milk crate, bucket, stepstool, etc. to stand on
-IF YOU HAVE IT: Mallet, Hammer, Staple Gun, Pole Driver, 1" Stake or Lever Pole
What to Expect:
Susannah will be perched in a boom lift and guiding the team to install flagpoles & flags to create her design. To install flagpoles, the plan is to have a 2-person team per color. One person will hammer a stake or drive a pole into the dirt to create a hole; the other will use a mallet to pound in a 6.5" flagpole, then install & staple the flag. That's it! (about 500x)
We will be capturing this on video & in pictures, and will interview some of you to capture this exciting event. When we are done, we will celebrate! Food & drinks from Taco Truck All Stars with Randolph's flags fluttering for all to see!
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
If you can come, please RSVP to executivedirector@artsbusvt.org and indicate what tools you can bring.
If you can share, please forward this to people that you know may help.
If you can give, to cover expenses for this installation we have about $1500 (e.g., boom lift, signage, tools, supplies), so if you enjoy this installation, any and all donations are welcome.
Let's Do This!
