Intentional grief space this Sunday at the New Shelter in Hubbard Park.
A gentle, supportive, body/earth-centered approach to give space for whatever is ripe for moving. Grief doesn't have to look any particular way - there is space for however it may show up - whether tears or words or movement or quiet presence of feeling.
Generally, there isn't much space for grieving in our culture. In others, grief rituals are common practice that support the health and resiliency of individuals and community. Grieving together and in presence with the land can be a profound and healing experience.
Wear warm layers! Bring a hot beverage in a thermos if you'd like. Otherwise, come as you are... all are welcome.
If writing is a supportive tool, feel free to bring a journal. There has been interest by some to bring drums or other instruments- they are welcomed if you are moved to do so.
Of course, social distancing... there is plenty of space. We will begin at 1:00pm... it may not go as long as 2:30, but I ask that if you would like to attend to arrive on time and stay until completion.
