Saturday, October 24th, 2020 is National Take-Back Day!
Have you been doing any fall cleaning? October is the perfect time to:
- Know what substances are currently in your home.
- Secure any substances and make sure that they are safe stored and out of reach.
- Dispose of any old, expired, or unnecessary medications and/or substances.
Why is disposing of unused medications so important for Vermonters?: More than half of people who misuse prescription medication get it from a friend or relative, often straight out of the medicine cabinet (VDH).
The Winooski Police Department has a medical disposal box that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Drop off any medications that you no longer use. Consider removing other substances in your home that are no longer needed and ensure that they don't accidentally end up in the wrong hands (electronic vaping devices, marijuana products, alcohol).
