Steve Herbert, 21-year veteran of the Vermont Extension Master Gardener program, will present a one-hour workshop about brewing and using compost tea in the vegetable garden. The workshop will take place at the the Barton Community Garden on Friday, October 23rd, at 3:00 PM.
With a degree in geology, and experience as an agroforester in the Peace Corps in Africa, managing a small non-profit in water resources development world-wide, extensive travel, and as a professional dowser of 35 years, Steve will cover the basics of brewing compost tea, equipment needed, proper application and all the benefits one reaps. His talk is co-sponsored by Peace of Earth Farm in Albany, the Barton Community Garden and the Northeast Kingdom Extension Master Gardeners program. The public is welcome to attend and admission is free.The Barton Community Garden is located below the parking lot of the Barton Library, 100 Church Street, Barton and can be accessed by the adjacent driveway.
