The Friends of the Union Meeting Hall invite you to our first annual Ferrisburgh Pumpkin Carving Contest and Display! Get creative with your carving skills and help us create a beautiful spectacle of jack o' lanterns for all to see. Pumpkins will be on display under the maple trees of the Union Meeting Hall, easily visible from Route 7 and the 4-Corners.
Participants will be entered into categories based on age including ages 3-6, ages 7-13, ages 14-17 and two 18+ categories. The two 18 and older categories will include most unique and best carving. Children 13 and younger that enter will get a baggie with goodies. Winners of each category will receive a small prize.
Entry is free and is open to anyone from the public. You do not have to enter the contest in order to have your pumpkin displayed. Anyone is welcome to carve a pumpkin and drop it off.
The Ferrisburgh Board Select Board, town representatives as well as members from the Friends of the Union Meeting Hall will be judging the contest. After judging is complete the pumpkins will be on display at the Union Meeting Hall on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Carved pumpkins can be dropped off at the Union Meeting Hall located at 41 Middlebrook Road in Ferrisburgh on Thursday October 29 from 3-7 and Friday October 30 from 3-4:30. We ask that pumpkins be dropped off no later than 4:30pm on Friday as judging will take place at 5pm. At drop-off each participant wishing to be judged will be asked to fill out an entry form. Also at that time participants 13 and younger will receive their goodie bags. A representative from the Friends of the Union Meeting Hall will be present to assist with drop-offs. Masks and social distancing required.
