Community Grief Ritual

Past event
Oct 25, 2020, 1 to 2:30 AM

I will be holding a community grief space a week from Sunday (10/25) at the New Shelter in Hubbard Park from 1-2:30 pm.

With the prolonged effects of the pandemic, our political situation, and the unknowns of a greatly shifting and unstable world, gathering together in an intentional space to grieve can be powerful, supportive and healing.

Grief does not have to look like sobbing and tears. I invite whatever arises to be in the space. Although I'm calling this a 'grief' space, any and all emotions are welcome. There is no right or wrong way. Although I'm naming some reasons grief work might be supportive right now, anything that needs to be grieved is welcome... even if the story behind the grief isn't known.

Grief work can feel intimidating for many. Grief is not widely accepted in this culture. My intention is to hold a gentle space and support connection to the body and the land. The actual time for grieving will be a clear 15 minutes.

Bring many warm layers, perhaps a hot beverage in a thermos, a journal if writing is a supportive practices to you, and any instruments if you like.
