Texas Hill Halloween!

Past event
Oct 31, 2020, 4 to 6:30 PM

Hello all you gals and ghouls! Halloween is coming up, and Texas Hill Circle will be a HOWLING good time this year.

Just a reminder that ALL Huntington families are welcome to participate. If you don't live on Texas Hill, but would like to hand out treats, and you don't yet have a spot to do so, send me an email and we can get something set up for you.

In a week or so, I'll be posting a link to a map of all the families with confirmed tables set up.

See below for logistics and safety information.

Keep it freaky!

Safety
- The CDC released guidelines for celebrating Halloween safely. [https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays.html#halloween]
- Please consider:
- - Preparing separate goodie bags on a table where kids can pick them up
- - Providing hand sanitizer
- - Please wear a cloth mask when passing others in the road, and hang back from other groups if you meet up at a table.
- For everyone's safety, I'll be putting up neon signs around the Circle to warn motorists of trick-or-treaters.
- Around sundown, please carry a lantern or wear neon flashers or reflective tape.
- If you can hang lights in your yard to help trick-or-treaters, please do!
- Halloween can be rough for kiddos with allergies. Here is a list of allergy-free candies-- please consider putting a mix of candies in your bags. [https://www.spokin.com/candy-guide/list-of-food-allergy-friendly-halloween-candy]

Logistics
- Timing
- - Most people preferred to trick-or-treat between 4 and 5pm. If we kick off the festivities at 4pm with the younger trick-or-treaters, they'll have time to complete the circle by 5:30.
- Treat Tables
- - If you've ever walked the circle, you know it ain't short. :) Please ease the burden on little legs (and beleaguered parents) by setting up a table as close to the road as possible.
- - Ideally, we don't want kiddos knocking on doors (to minimize the COVID risk). Please try to be out, if you can, and bundle up! We all know how chilly it can get.
- "Tricks"
- - If you choose to set up a surprise/scare, please A) know your audience and B) make sure you maintain social distance. No one wants a crying fairy princess.
