The 1619 Project: Reading and Community Discussion

Past event
Oct 28, 2020, 4:30 to 5:45 PM

Have you heard of the 1619 Project? Named for the date of the first arrival of Africans on American soil, the 1619 Project seeks to place "the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative."

If you want to learn more about how slavery has shaped American political, social, and economic institutions and to engage in a community conversation, please join the Richmond Free Library's 1619 Project discussions on two Wednesday afternoons, October 28 and November 11, from 4:30-5:45 pm.
