Upcoming Training!
Saturday Oct. 17th, 3-5pm, Introduction to Nonviolent Communication, facilitated by Laurie Rabut
How can NVC support our awareness, healing, and moving forward?
How NVC can support the pre-circle or "Intake" process?
How NVC can support the Restorative Circle process?
In this workshop, we will explore Non-Violent Communication (NVC), sometimes called "Compassionate Communication" as developed and taught by Marshall Rosenberg and his many students worldwide.
We will explore the Restorative Justice "Consciousness" and how Non-Violent Communication supports that consciousness in practice.
We will practice getting in touch with what is "alive" in us at any moment. We will practice listening with presence and empathy to what is "alive" in ourselves and others, We will practice speaking and listening for connection and meaning.
This workshop is appropriate for anyone interested in the Restorative Circle process, and is appropriate for those new to NVC and restorative justice, as well as those more experienced with these concepts who are looking for an opportunity to practice with others. Beginners welcome!

Further Training!
Saturday, Oct. 24th, 3-5pm- Introduction to Restorative Antiracism, facilitated by Claire Webb and Emma Bliss
What is restorative antiracism? How can we use the concepts of internal decolonization, and our personal processes of unlearning white supremacist behavior in order make more inclusive restorative spaces? Through exploration of systems that perpetuate racism and how they interplay with our communities, this training will apply antiracism theory to restorative justice work.
Saturday, Oct. 31, 3-5 pm - Introduction to Restorative Circles, facilitated by Dan DeWalt and Laurie Rabut
This training will focus on intakes for restorative circles. How do you make someone comfortable enough to speak about difficult issues. How to be an active listener, how to listen with empathy, and what is the difference between empathy and sympathy? How does NVC training help us communicate in preparation for a circle?
Saturday Nov. 7th, 3-5pm - Restorative Circles: Learning Through Listening, facilitated by W/ Claire Webb
The only way to learn the meaning of circle is to try it! Sit in circle with us, listen deeply, speak from the heart, and learn how to be a member of a restorative circle.
