Join us at the Greensboro Free Library on Saturday October 10th from 1pm-2pm for a time to gather in a physically distant, masked way outdoors to celebrate community. For the past 2 weeks youth ages 5-14 have gathered in the backyard of the library with local potter, Emma Podolin, to create clay tiles representing what is important to them. This project represents the fact that we each bring a unique magic to our incredible community. On Saturday project youth will quilt their tiles together showing our connection to one another before taking them home as a reminder of this community connection. We will take a photo of this community art piece and hang it in the children's book room at the library for all to enjoy. We invite you, the greater community, to stop in for this quilting moment, locally made snacks, music and stories. The library is open on Saturdays from 10am-2pm so please feel free to make time to check out books, kits and movies. This community project is generously co-sponsored by WonderArts. Please contact Greensboro Free Library Youth Services Librarian, Emily Purdy, at greensborokids@gmail.com with questions.
In case of inclement weather please call ahead.
