Social Justice Free Outdoor Screening of "Harriet"

The Salem for Social Justice group is sponsoring a free screening of the recent film "Harriet", which portrays the life of Harriet Tubman, famous for her amazing efforts with the Underground Railroad. It will take place on the Historic Salem Community Center lawn, on Friday, October 2. There will be 50 free tickets available at 6:15.

The film will start at 6:45. Only 50 people may attend. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. Please wear a mask, bring a chair or blankets and dress warmly! Rain date is Sunday, October 4.

There will be a follow-up event on Sunday, October 11. Local Historian Clifford Oliver will lead a walk on the streets of Greenwich, pointing out the homes of the 12 abolitionists who started the Underground Railroad in Greenwich. It will be a leisurely 4 mile walk, from 1:00 to 3:00, beginning at the Greenwich Library. More info from Herb at 518-859-3538.
