On Saturday October 24th, from 9 AM – 12 PM Third Branch Horse Logging (TBHL) will be hosting our first annual Fall Horse Logging Demo Day. This event will take place at 652 Stony Brook Road in Northfield, and will feature:

-Woodlot tours of the 94-acre pine lot owned by Brad Johnson and his family, and sustainably logged by TBHL.

-Single horse log skidding demonstrations by TBHL teamsters and horses, demonstrating how we use harness our horses and use animal power to move wood from stump to landing.

-Lumber sale of low carbon footprint rough sawn hardwood boards, both 4/4 and 5/4 edged boards and 5/4 and 9/4 live edge slabs, various widths and lengths available. Pricing will be discounted to $2.75/board foot to move the boards along and make room for a new batch this winter, and we can help load boards you want to take home. This lumber is beautiful and varies from clear to heavily figured, including book-matched pairs. Species available are hard maple, and yellow and white birch. Moisture meter will be available on site if you want to check dryness of boards.

People of all ages, including kids, are welcome, but please leave your dogs at home. We will be outside, so dress appropriately. We will be social distancing, and please bring a mask for all in your party. This event is free of charge with plenty of parking, and will be held in rain or shine.
