David has spent more than 20 years as a public servant fighting for our environment and working families.
As an organic farmer, State Representative, State Senator and now Lt. Governor, David has committed his life's work to addressing the realities of climate change.
In 2009, David cast the decisive vote in the Vermont House to override Gov. Jim Douglas's veto of marriage equality. And nine years earlier David sponsored legislation to make marriage-related statutes gender-neutral.
David is running on a platform based in racial, social, economic and environmental justice and believes, "we must recommit ourselves to listen to and uplift Black and brown voices. We must hear, elevate, and collaborate to address systemic racism. And we must fight together for progress."
