Hi neighbors!
I know that unaffordable healthcare costs and lack of access to healthcare is a huge issue for folks in our community, and thought you would be interested in this upcoming event. On Friday, October 2nd, the Vermont Workers Center is hosting a Picnic and Picket as Part of a National Medicaid March Week of Action organized by the Nonviolent Medicaid Army to denounce the government's failed response to COVID-19 and highlight poor people's leadership in the fight for universal healthcare.
Here in Vermont we're calling on Governor Scott to:
*Protect Medicaid* by cutting the state's contract with OneCare, a for-profit company siphoning off millions in Medicaid funding that should be spent on people's healthcare
*Expand Medicaid* to everyone in Vermont, regardless of income or immigration status.
We hope to see you there!
