Annual Master Gardener Online State Conference

Gardening for Resilience: Feeding our Soil, Seeds, Habitats and Communities

November 5 and 6, 2020

For Jamaica Kincaid, gardening is a conversation in which the garden speaks back. She hears social justice issues in the history and language of gardening, where colonizers "discovered" and named plants grown by native people. Gardening is sustenance for the poor of her native Antigua, but can be associated with privilege in the U.S. This duality is expressed, she says, in Garden of Eden's Tree of Life (farming) and Tree of Knowledge (horticulture). Join us to hear her talk, "Gardening: Sustaining the Body and Soul."

Our great lineup of speakers also includes:

Natasha Duarte (CAV) and Cat Buxton, Vermont soil and compost experts

Sylvia Davatz, expert seed saver, and founder of Solstice Seeds; and

Dan Jaffe Wilder, our keynote speaker and the Horticulturalist and Propagator for the Norcross Wildlife Sanctuary.

Registration is now open. All gardeners are welcome so ask a friend to join us and please register soon! The $40 fee includes access to both days, as well as live recording of the conference. Partial scholarships are available.
