Medicaid March in Bellows Falls

Please join the Vermont Workers' Center and partners in eight states for a National Medicaid March to denounce the government's failed response to Covid-19 and highlight the poor people's leadership in the fight for universal health care.

The marches are organized by the newly formed Nonviolent Medicaid Army, a growing national force of the poor and dispossessed modeled after Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's "nonviolent army of the poor" of the 1968 Poor People's Campaign.

People who are on or excluded from Medicaid represent the diversity of the entire working class. We're marching to connect the dots between all issues we face--from healthcare and housing, to incarceration and detention--and build unity against our common opponent, Wall Street.

Here in Vermont, we're demanding Governor Scott expand Medicaid to everyone in our state, regardless of income or immigration status, and cancel the state's contract with OneCare Vermont, a for-profit company siphoning off millions in Medicaid funding that should be spent on people's healthcare.
