FREE WRITERS WORKSHOP
MORETOWN MEMORIAL LIBRARY
SIGN UP TODAY!

Beginning in May, local writers are invited to participate in an ongoing, twice monthly, Monday evening Writers Workshop at the Moretown Memorial library. The workshop is free and open to all adults of all skill levels.

The group will be coordinated by Ken McMurtry. Ken studied poetry with Marvin Bell, and George Starbuck, at the Iowa Writers Workshop and has an MFA in fiction writing from Vermont College. He has published several stories and young adult books.

We hope to offer the space, encouragement, advice and support necessary to generate exciting new creations by local Poets and Writers. The group will be structured, limited in size, and will offer fellow writers a supportive, constructive audience for their material.

Poems, stories, novels, non-fiction pieces, etc, will be critiqued with the goal of providing positive, useful, reactions to workshop submissions. Workshop goals are to provide thoughtful new perspectives on a participants work leading to improved editing. In truth, all workshops are editing and revision workshops.

The following dates are scheduled for May:
May 5th, 7pm - 8:30pm
May 19th, 7pm- 8:30pm

Space is limited. For questions and/or sign up for the workshop please contact Ken at 496-2922 or by email at mcmurtry@madriver.com.
