Dawnland is an important documentary for these times. The film depicts the first U.S. government-sanctioned truth and reconciliation committee. This Emmy Award Winning film follows the committee as it investigates the impact of Maine's child welfare practices on Native American Communities. Please plan to come early (6:45) so we can start promptly at 7:00. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, blankets, and snacks for your own comfort as you wish.
We are looking forward to a thoughtful followup discussion held on Zoom with the film's education director, Mishy Lesser and members of the Restorative Community Justice of Southern VT organization on Tuesday, October 6 from 7-8 p.m. Zoom information will be made available to all who register and attend the film.
