Stone Valley Arts Literary Open Mic will be held Friday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill (stone church across from Poultney High School). Poets, Storytellers, Spoken Word Artists in all genres are invited to perform your own original poems, slam pieces, classics, or other favorites. Musicians and songwriters welcome!
Bonus: Front Porch Music Concert (last of the season) begins at 5:30! The Green Bothers Band has been performing as a group for twenty years throughout New England and New York. The band's repertoire includes an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, rock, r & b, reggae, and Latin fusion, as well as original compositions. Featuring Josh Jakob on electric guitar and lead vocals, Bob Bizek on bass, Phil Lamy on drums and percussion, Dave McKenzie on trumpet, flugelhorn and percussion, and Harry Drum on saxophone, flute and percussion, the band's unique blend of jazz, Latin and R & B packs a cool, funky, soul-stirring punch to standards, cover tunes and originals. What makes the Green Brothers band a step above is having one of the best rhythm sections in Vermont in addition to a tight, charted horn section. It adds a special and different groove to songs by Steely Dan, Santana, Stevie Wonder, Huey Lewis, Marvin Gaye, Duke Ellington, Marley, The Beatles, James Brown, The Doors, Tito Puente, Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin, Rolling Stones along with the groups originals. A band that will musically move you!
Come for the FREE concert , stay for the poetry and storytelling! Bring a mask.
