Neighbors,
There's some beautiful, revolutionary music coming from your neighbors, and it will sound even better if you're in the audience. The Burlington Choral Society, under the direction of Richard Riley, will perform the 1760 Requiem “Grande Messe des Morts” by François-Joseph Gossec. This marks the first performance of this piece in Vermont and one of the first in North America. It inspired Mozart in the composition of his Requiem and was performed to honor those who fell at the storming of the Bastille.
The concert is Saturday, April 26, 7:30 p.m. at Elley-Long Music Center in Fort Ethan Allen, off Route 15 in Colchester, VT.
You'll experience our 90-voice chorus, orchestra and some outstanding soloists. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors & students from the Flynn box office at www.flynntix.org or (802) 863-5966. There may also be tickets available at the door.
