Pope Memorial Library is excited to host Beth Charles, Vermont children's book author and apple grower, at our Storytime/StoryWalk event on Saturday morning, September 26th at 10:00am. We will be gathering in the field behind the Methodist Church, located across the street from the Danville Green. The book is How to Grow an Apple Pie. Beth Charles and her extended family has been growing apples and baking pies at Mendon Orchards in Mendon, Vermont for decades. This is her first published children's book. After the author's presentation, families are encouraged to "walk the book" on a StoryWalk. Pages of the book are laminated and attached to stakes; walk a bit, read, walk a bit, read. There will also be a Scavenger Hunt, cider and donuts and everyone attending can enter a drawing for a fresh-baked apple pie. Books will be available for purchase and signed by the author. Bring a blanket and please remember to wear your mask. See you there!
