The Covid-19 pandemic has laid bare the impacts of systemic racism and long-standing inequities. Historically marginalized members of our communities are experiencing additional terrible loss and hardship during this time. In order to have a strong local democracy, we need to create truly inclusive spaces, as well as a sense of belonging, and promote the value of diversity as we all work to build our future together.
We are embarking on a two-year process to address these big questions as a community and we need your help.

The Montpelier Social and Economic Justice Advisory Committee (SEJAC) was founded to assist the city council in recognizing and addressing historic and ongoing systems and structures in our nation, state, and community that perpetuate racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, ableism, and other forms of injustice and oppression.
