Cots Walk Sun. May 4

Past event
May 4, 2014

Hi Neighbors - The 25th annual COTS Walk is a little over two weeks away, and we still need YOUR help. The COTS Walk raises money and awareness about families and individuals who are homeless or marginally housed in our community. COTS - The Committee on Temporary Shelter, is THE largest service provider for the homeless in Vermont. The Walk is a 3 - mile trek throughout downtown Burlington, starting at Battery Park, walking the route someone who is homeless might take while looking for shelter and services. This is the one day of the year where COTS Shelters will open their doors to the public.

The family-friendly event features children’s activities, face painting, music and free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for participants. The event is a safe way to educate children about those who are in need and introduce them to ways they can make a difference in their community.

All money raised by walkers goes directly toward providing services. There is no minimum donation for participation. For walkers who elect to take the challenge and raise $1,000 as an individual or a team a generous grant from an anonymous donor will match all donations up to $15,000.
