The University of Vermont Extension Master Gardener
Online State Conference
Gardening for Resilience: Feeding our Soil, Seeds, Habitats and Communities
November 5 and 6, 2020
Would you like to try seed saving to help improve safe, healthy, more bountiful yields, reduce pests and plant diseases and have your crops better adapt to our local environments?
In this era of seed shortages, delays, often poor and unhealthy quality and nutrition, this question is more pertinent than ever before. So, how does one start seed saving that will benefit all of us?
If you would like to learn more, please join us online at the UVM EMG state conference in November for a seed saving demonstration. You will also get a virtual glimpse into Sylvia Davatz's garden in beautiful Hartland, VT, where the possibilities for a strong, year-round, locally based food system come to life.
Our great lineup of speakers also includes:
Dan Jaffe Wilder, our keynote speaker, the Horticulturalist and Propagator for the Norcross Wildlife Sanctuary;
Jamaica Kincaid, award-winning writer, novelist, and Harvard professor; and
Natasha Duarte (CAV) and Cat Buxton, Vermont soil and compost experts.
Registration is now open. The $40 fee includes access to both days, as well as live recording of the conference. The conference is open to all gardeners, so ask a friend to join us!
Partial scholarships are available.
