SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS AND LOCAL RESTAURANTS by signing up for this week's free takeout meal this Thursday that will be provided by The Village Restaurant. The meal is MACARONI AND CHEESE MADE WITH JASPER HILL CHEESE, FRESH LOCAL CARROTS AND HOUSEMADE BAGUETTE. Pick up times will be assigned between 2 pm and 5:30 pm.

To reserve your take-out dinners for your family, please email meals@hardwickagriculture.org or call (802) 472-1004 before Tuesday at 6 p.m. for Thursday's meal. Leave your name, hometown, number of meals, phone number or email. Someone will contact you to confirm and give you a half-hour time frame for pickup on Thursday.

The Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) is working with Hardwick restaurants to recreate a free Hardwick Community Dinner each Thursday. Participating restaurants will be paid by CAE thanks to generous grants including funding from Everyone Eats, a project of Southeastern Vermont Community Action with federal funds designed to help respond to Covid-19.

We are aware that everyone has been affected by Covid-19 - financially, by extra time demands, by more difficult transportation, by challenges to get to grocery stores and farms as we did in times past. For the grant requirements, by accepting these free meals that person will be acknowledging that their food access (food security) has been affected by the pandemic.
