Some crazy weather lately, but with the melt of the snow, it's apparent there is a lot of litter out there to be picked up. I've noticed a lot on Route 7, and thanks to the efforts of Lisa Schold, a junior at CVU, it looks like we will have our young Charlotters who are members of CVU's Environmental Action Club and Key Club taking care of ALL of Route 7. We need you for our many other roads, though. Please jump on the town's website, www.charlottevt.org, and at the top right hand corner, you'll find the Green Up Day link. Click there, and it will bring you to an area where you can pick a road to work. Come to the Quonset Hut at Charlotte Central School on Saturday from 9-3, or Sunday 9 to noon, pick up your bags, and go out and do your thing.
There are several other great events taking place on Green Up Day by the Quonset Hut at Charlotte Central School:
E-cycling: Drop off your electronic devices such as computers and their components, dvd's, vcr's, stereos, phones, small kitchen electronics, radios, tv's, laptops, video machines, microwaves etc.
Buy Compost: Charlotte Central School will be hosting their third annual bulk compost sale.
Participate in the Charlotte Library's Seed Library:
Stop by the Seed Library Table on Green Up Day & look over the seed selections
Pick out which seeds you’d like to “check out”
Receive a packet with 10 seeds of your selection
Take home and plant according to directions for seed saving
Join us at library for our seed saving workshop to learn when and how to harvest seeds
Return 10 seeds to the library at the end of the season
Come back next spring and do it again!
