The next meeting of the Newbury Book Discussion Group will be Thursday, Oct. 1st, 7-8PM at the Tenney Memorial Library. This month we are reading "The Patron Saint of Liars" by Ann Patchett. As a reviewer writes on Goodreads, " Ann Patchett's debut novel ... is a beautifully written story about people, secrets, and lies. The book's title intrigued me; "Patron Saint of Liars" – a conflict between virtue and dishonesty. Patchett's writing is quiet and compelling as she shares the story of Rose Clinton, and how her lies affected her life and the lives of those around her." This book was also chosen by Parade Magazine in their "Best Book for Every State" List as the winner for Kentucky. Ask your local librarian to order a copy for you through interlibrary loan and join us on the 1st for a fun discussion. Bring a mask with you to wear in the library.
