Stopping Stones Installation and Virtual Ceremony September 13 3-4 pm

Ohavi Zedek Synagogue, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and Stopping Stones invite you to a virtual ceremony recognizing the lives of Lavinia Parker and her child, Francis, both enslaved from 1835-1841 in Burlington, Vermont. Stopping Stones is an historical and reparations initiative created to recognize enslaved individuals in early America at places they were held. Stopping Stones supports organizations to engage citizens and groups in repairing the echos of slavery that continue in their communities today. This event will feature 12 speakers from the African American and Jewish communities as well as the installation of the stones at Ski Rack.
