Past event
Sep 5, 2020, 11 AM to 12 PM

Amazing Odonates: Draonflies & Damselflies: Can you tell the difference between a dragonfly and a damselfly? Any idea how old those "mosquito hawks" that whiz by you are? Do they bite or sting? For the answers to these and other questions, consider attending Naturalist Laurie DiCesare's show-and-tell presentation on the amazing "Odes" she has identified and photographed throughout Vermont, the Adirondack Park in upstate New York and on the coast of Maine. This show-and-tell includes exuvia (the "skins" the nymphs emerge from), macro photos from Lake Arrowhead, Milton Pond and other local wetlands, and a bit of biology and folklore. Admission is Free; preregistration is required.
Program will be held outdoors; max. 50 well-spaced attendees.

Site: Deborah Rawson Memorial Library, 8 River Road (just off Rt. 15), Jericho, VT.
