Read this message from Rachel Kring, Executive Director of Hinesburg Community Resource Center, about the Hinesburg Food Shelf. Then sign up to play in the Hinesburgh Public House Bocce Tournament on September 4th and 5th to help raise money for this effort. Come on. It's fun and it's safe.
"The Hinesburg Community Resource Center Food Shelf has seen steady need in our community throughout the pandemic, and we are grateful to our community for helping us meet that need. In response to community needs, we added a delivery option for home-bound individuals and a weekly snack bag drop off program for school kids. We also partnered with our school district and other area food shelves to offer school meal pickups throughout the summer months. We know that in the best of times many people in our community struggle with food insecurity. This year, many families have added financial pressure going into the heating season, which is already a time of financial stress in our community. Although life is starting to look a little more normal in Vermont right now, many families will feel the financial effects of the pandemic for years to come. We are confident that we can meet the food needs in our community, but now more than ever it takes all of us working together to meet our mission of neighbor helping neighbor."
