Come to the Vergennes green this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. to hear singer Linda Radtke, accompanied by Ernest Drown, sing and talk about three centuries of song selections. Funded by a grant from Vermont Humanities, Linda brings Vermont's history to life, and special for our local audiences, she'll have an award-winning song composed by a Vergennes resident in the 1950s, a selection of songs about Lake Champlain, and in honor of Rokeby Museum's abolitionist history, some songs from the Civil War era. As if this isn't enough, Linda will be dressed as a suffragist... and with a list of Vergennes women who were ready to vote 100 years ago, for the very first time. The program is sponsored by Rokeby Museum, and with support from the Vergennes Partnership and the Vergennes Historical Society. Come early - at 3 p.m. for lawn games.
Please wear and mask and honor physical distancing protocol. Free, and families most welcome!
