KIDS! (Parents!)
Be part of history! Photo opportunity on the State House lawn, Wednesday, August 26th, at 1:30 pm.
Over one hundred years ago, children carried a sign in the suffrage parades that said "I Wish Ma Could Vote".
Twenty-five years ago, in the 75th suffrage anniversary event, seven local young girls headed the parade in Montpelier with a sign that says "We're Glad Ma Can Vote".
That same sign will be displayed on the State House lawn on Wednesday, the hundredth anniversary of signing of the 19th amendment, guaranteeing women the right to vote.
Please come! Parents, carpool a bunch of kids! Set the stage for someday telling your own grandchildren that you were part of the 100-year anniversary commemoration of women finally getting the right to vote.
Masks and social distancing, of course. Please and thank you!
