The Chelsea Funnery presents "Shakespeare's World: A Midsummer Night's Dream!" Children of all ages are welcome to participate in this free virtual program made possible by Chelsea Public Library and the Vermont Department of Libraries.
Register by contacting the library at chelsealibraryvt@gmail.com or (802) 685-2188. The program will be held on Zoom.
Dive into the enchanted forest of magical spirits, where nothing is as it seems! We will explore the fairy kingdoms of Oberon and Titania, the mischief of Puck, the buffoonery of the Rude Mechanicals as they bumble their way towards their grand performance! Join us in traveling to the world where humans turn into donkeys, fierce duels and love potions abound, and we are never sure if all this is but a dream...the program will end with a sharing for friends and family on Zoom.
During this two-hour Zoom workshop, we'll read through some entertaining excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and then we'll get the text up on its feet and bring the play to life with our bodies and voices. At the end of the two hours, we'll invite friends and family to join our Zoom to see the magical forest we've created all afternoon!
The goal of this workshop will be to introduce the attendees to the basics of theater with a focus on enjoyment! We'll craft each exercise and game so it is not only educational but joyful!
