CAPA and the Robert Frost Stone House Museum at Bennington College are continuing their popular food and gardening webinar series with upcoming sessions on food preservation, fall preparations for winter gardens, and storage crops, featuring a panel of our community's expert gardeners.
Monday, Aug 24, 11:00 am - Food preservation
It's the peak of the harvest season, and sometimes we have more fresh food than we can handle! Food preservation includes canning, freezing, and dehydrating foods, so they will be available to eat over the winter when the garden is buried in the snow. Our panel of experts will share how they are preserving food this season and will answer all your food preservation and gardening questions.
Monday, Sept 14, 11:00 am - Fall preparations for winter gardens
The weather is getting cooler, so what does that mean for your garden? There are some crops you can plant in the fall and other steps you can take to ensure your garden is in great shape next spring. Our panel of experts will share what they are doing in the fall gardens and answer your gardening questions.
Monday, October 12, 11:00 am - Storage crops
Storage crops, like potatoes and winter squash, can last for weeks or months after they are harvested if they are kept in the right conditions. Our panel of experts will talk about how to store these vegetables through the winter and answer your gardening questions.
