The Craftsbury Energy Committee and the Neighbors to Neighbors group have another 10 cords of log-length wood for those households that may not be able to afford firewood for the upcoming winter.
We are hosting a Firewood Processing Bee on Sat., 8/22, from 7:30 am - 1 pm on the north end of the Dustan Field parking lot.
We are looking for volunteers to help cut, split, and stack the wood.
Log Splitters - we are also looking for log splitters. If you cannot make it that Sat. with yours, I could pick it up and deliver it back to your residence and be responsible for it.
The firewood will eventually go to low-income households in the area who may not be able to afford firewood for this upcoming winter season. We have already delivered 6 cords of wood to 7 households in the area!
Since we are a town-sanctioned group with liability concerns we will be practicing general safety and COVID safety needs.
A BIG Thank You to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center for donating the first six cords of wood!!
The most recent 10 cords of wood was able to be purchased with a grant from the New England Grassroots Environment Fund. For more info, go to: https://grassrootsfund.org/
