I applaud the Richmond Energy Committee on hosting their presentation on Net Zero. If you are interested in freeing yourself from utility bills and reducing energy use I encourage you to attend. I plan to attend and hopefully provide any insight into how it can be done successfully for existing buildings. As a professional consulting engineer who launched a successful 3 year program in 2009 to convert my home/office to a Net Zero site, I have focused my work lately on Net Zero support and am about to launch a local effort offering consulting services to assist home & business owners on how they develop a roadmap to achieve Net Zero. It can be done! We all know that with any investment that has multi-year payback, no matter how good it looks, it's always about the up front money. Efficiency Vermont is planning on presenting at the Richmond meeting and providing information concerning financing programs. But it can also be about cash flow. There is always more than one way to look at things to accomplish you goals! Hope you can make it!
