Join us to learn more about the future Monkton Community Dog Park and take home a doggie-bag favor for your pup!

Do you own a dog, love them or know someone that does? We do too and would love to build a safe area in town for them to play. Dog parks are a wonderful way for dogs to get exercise, play with others and for community members to socialize.

SITE: The proposed dog park will be near the parking lot at Morse Park on Pond Road. It will have a secure 5' tall fence and be approximately 1 acre in size.

WHAT WE'VE DONE SO FAR: A group of Monkton residents have worked together for two years to brainstorm and explore ideas to build a community dog park in Monkton. We have received approval for the proposed location from VT Agency of Natural Resources, the Monkton Recreation Committee and the Monkton Selectboard. We also received concept approval of location and conformance with the easement from Vermont Housing Conservation Board (VHCB) with agreement to review final details prior to ground breaking. Lastly, we shared our process and plans in the Town Report and hosted an information table at Town Meeting.

FUNDING: Our dog park group is in the process of obtaining grants, raising funds, and soliciting sponsorships from local/national businesses to fund the building and maintenance of the dog park. We do not expect or desire the dog park to have any impact on Monkton tax payers.

COME JOIN US on Saturday August 15th between 10am and 12pm to learn more about what we've been up to and see the site.
